Privacy and legal notice

Who runs this site
EDON is run by Kaveh Asadzamaneh (Kave Asad), based in Finland. Write to info@edon.fi about anything on this page.
What this site collects
As little as it can. Our host, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver the pages and to protect the site from abuse, as described under Hosting below. To count visits we use a simple counter of our own, described under How you found EDON below. It sets no cookies and does not identify anyone. Beyond that, we only receive what you choose to send us. There is no advertising, no tracking and no analytics cookie on this site.
If you request a toolkit or a tool
We store your name, your work email address, the moment you sent the form, the exact wording of each box you ticked and the address of the page you sent the form from. We use them to give you the files you asked for. Only if you also ticked the box for EDON emails do we send you occasional emails with practical tools and articles for owners and leaders who deal with strategy, transformation and turnaround. Every such email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing never takes away your access to the files. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. The data is stored in a Cloudflare database in the EU. We keep it while we stay in touch and delete it no later than two years after our last contact with you, or sooner if you ask.
To keep automated abuse out, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks technical signals from your browser to tell people from bots. After you submit the form, a small cookie named edon_access keeps the download page open for you for 12 months, or until you clear it. It holds a random code and nothing else, and it is not used to track you. If we delete your request, the code stops working.
If you switch between the light and dark theme, that choice is kept in your own browser and is never sent to us.
If you book a call
When you click a booking link, we count the click together with the date and the page it came from, and nothing about you. Booking runs on Cal.com, which handles the booking for us as our processor. When you book, Cal.com receives your name, your email address and anything you add to the booking, and shares them with us to set up the meeting. Cal.com is based in the United States, and transfers there rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. For each booking we also keep a short record of our own, with no name or email address: when the call is, its status, how you heard about EDON, the link tags described below and whether the booking used a work address. We keep it for two years, then delete it.
How you found EDON
Some links to this site carry short tags that say where the link was shared, such as a LinkedIn post or an email, and which article it points to. They never contain anyone's name. As you move around the site, the tags travel with you in the page addresses; nothing is stored on your device. If you request a toolkit, we store the tags with your request. If you book a call, Cal.com receives the tags with your booking, and the booking form asks how you heard about EDON. We use this only to learn which channels bring people to EDON, which is our legitimate interest in understanding how we are found. The tags and your answer are kept with your request or booking and deleted with it.
We also count page views on this site: for each page and day, how many views there were, where they came from (such as LinkedIn, Google or a tagged link), from which country, and on which type of device (computer, phone or tablet). On articles, we also count how often the executive summary is opened. The counts hold nothing about you: no name, no IP address and no cookie. Our host works out the country from the connection, and we keep only the country. We count on the basis of our legitimate interest in knowing which pages are read and how people find the site.
If you write to us
When you email info@edon.fi or kave.asad@edon.fi, we receive your name, your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it only to reply and to continue the conversation you started, which is our legitimate interest in answering you, or a step you asked for before an engagement. Our email is handled by Zoho Mail in its EU data centre. We keep correspondence while the conversation is relevant and delete it when it is not.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and to protect the site from abuse. We do not use that data to identify you.

Links to LinkedIn and Cal.com open in a new tab. They, and email, are other services with their own privacy terms.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, or object to its use, by writing to info@edon.fi. You can also complain to the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman at tietosuoja.fi (opens in a new tab).
